  • Make a reservation through our Inventory page

  • Stop by the St. John’s Tool Library at 151 Empire Ave. St. John’s

    • Entrance is accessible on Bonaventure Ave.

  • When entering the library, we ask that all members remain in the front of the room and allow the front desk volunteer to collect your reserved tools.

    Drop off process

  • If possible, please sanitize your tools before returning them to the tool library. Recommended ways to sanitize tools can be found here.

  • Please make sure the tool library is empty before going in to drop off your tools.

  • There is a table labelled RETURNS in the front as you enter the library.

  • Please place your tools to be returned on the table. If tools are too large or heavy tp be placed on the table, please place them underneath or next to the returns table.

  • The volunteer on duty will check the tools in, discuss any late or overdue fees, and ensure everything is working properly before taking them to sanitize.

    Membership Signup & Renewal

  • We encourage everyone to process their membership sign ups and renewals remotely via our website and myTurn platforms. If you have issues signing up or renewing online, please call us during open hours and a volunteer will assist you.

    Disclaimer

  • We recommend that people in the most at-risk groups refrain from participating in the tool library for the time being. If you are in an at-risk group and need assistance, please let us know and we will do our best to accommodate or connect you to help.

We ask that those individuals who are exhibiting flu-like symptoms and/or have come in contact with someone known to be sick please refrain from visiting the SJTL and borrowing tools.

As we resume operations on May 19th and begin rolling out our new contactless borrowing process, we would appreciate your continued patience and understanding. We hope these new measures will allow the Tool Library to meet your needs while ensuring  the health and safety of our members, volunteers, and the broader community.
